But somewhere along the line corporate greed took over and we were flooded by mindless meaningless shows that only made our minds regress.
Our young generation is entertained by what I classify as "Toilet Humour" . What happened to the days when comedy was actually funny? When we watched Friends and the episode finished with you having a smile because it was actually funny.
This business of using pre-recorded audience laughs from 80's shows should stop! There is nothing funny about Fred. Hannah Montana is not amusing! Don't fake the laughs. Don't force the humour.
After close examination and deliberation of the current viewing options, I understand where our parents are coming from. What happened to the Disney Channel, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon I grew up with? When did it become about senseless humour without meaning?
I am no longer compelled to want to watch another episode because they don't leave me wanting more... I relish the days when I couldn't wait to watch another episode cause the shows had depth, meaning, an actual storyline. But now we are flooded with one-day episode shows that go nowhere...
And it is these shows that embed stupid ideas into the minds of our children. These shows that are causing the regression of our generation. Where is the storyline? Where is the reason for the show? The purpose for me wanting to watch another episode? There is none! Because all these broadcasters are interested in is the money. The love of money has never been good! And now all the good shows are paying the price.
I make this call out to those who bring us our programming. If new meaningful ideas are hard to come by just bring back the shows of old and stop making us more stupid. At least with those I actually learnt something.
