Tekken 6 - What happened Harada?

Kazuya Mishima & Jin Kazama
Tekken has always prided itself in being a fighting game through and through. But somewhere here in this instalment, I believe Namco Bandai went a little bit off the tracks...
Yes Tekken 6 boasted the largest number of characters ever seen in a Tekken game with a total of 43 playable characters, but the cons outweigh the pros in this game in my opinion.

Lars Alexandersson
The new Bound System they introduced made performing combos a bit more interesting and brought about a surge in the Tekken Community as everyone tried to  to master and perform the most elaborate combos and decimate their competition with the system.

The character customization was also superb and one to behold. With the addition of Auras, Ki's, Rage Colours and Custom Hairstyles, you could truly make the Tekken fighters your own.

Miguel Caballero Rojo
The Rage System is also a new feature introduced in this game whereby your character would gain a boost in damage output when their health reached 10%. However, to acquire all the Rage Colours your had to literally "get lucky" whilst playing Ghost Battle by means of a Roulette that came up after you played a certain number of battles and only if you got Three Lucky Icons in a row. A massive in pain!

Bob Richards
Some of the production choices in this game were truly terrible. To start off, they introduced a new mode called Scenario Campaign, somewhat similar to the old Tekken Force mode. The bad thing is that you were forced to play and complete this mode in order to unlock all features in the game. Also playing this mode was the only way you could get sufficient G's (Tekken Currency) to buy the additional customisations for your character.

Also Namco Bandai screwed over all the Tekken players not capable of playing online as they made it impossible for you to rank up your character to the highest possible level unless you played Ghost Battle online. A major drawback that made them lose a number of fans by doing this.

All in all, Tekken 6 was a great Tekken game with new features, great features and an interesting twist in the storyline. A good game and a respectable buy if you can still get a copy.

So Katsuhiro Harada, I urge, NO! I implore you, don't pull a Tekken 6 on us for Tekken 7. We, the Tekken Nation will not be happy.
