Stop Trying To Make Unnecessary Money...

I love my cartoons. Anime, Manga, You name it! I just can't get enough of them. But I just have one problem...

One of the best and most popular forms of entertainment for kids and the young at heart are cartoons. Its a form of entertainment that's universal.  I think almost every single person on the planet has watched a cartoon. They are the one form of entertainment that I truly believe has no age limit. And the creators take immense advantage of this...


One  thing I've noticed about any cartoon that is highly accepted in its first season, is that they ALWAYS try to milk this. Yes at times it might work, but overdo it and your fans will trully lose interest. It depletes the content and quality of the series and causes viewers to get bored.

I have a theory. If your cartoon is going to have some type of story or main theme, it should run for only one Season - two at most. When you exceed these numbers, that is when avid followers, such as myself, start losing interest. A goo example is the Cartoon Bakugan Battle Brawlers- (The Yu-Gi-Oh!copy)...

When Bakugan Started, I was really excited. I just couldn't wait to see whether Dan would ever beat Masquerade and Naga. Or if Drago would complete his evolution. Then it finally came, Drago evolving, merging with the Infinity Core and the Brawlers becoming Guardians.

But it all went South when another season of the anime was made - New Vestroia. And although it was ok, it lacked anything new about it. Now they were making money and it was getting boring. Then when this finished, the actually had the audacity to make another one - Gundallian Invaders. Now I was pissed. Like seriously? They should have just let it go at the first season. But no, They had to make money...

And then what happened? I've lost interest, not because the cartoon isn't great, but because now it lacks appeal, their ideas are failing and you can see they are now adding unnecessary items to the series. And its not just this one, the list goes on. The Ben 10 series is another popular example. When it began, it was fun interesting, unique. Now it just interests kids below 10years.

Other series that have done this include Voltron(Some of their seasons were stupid), Sonic(Why even make sonic a cartoon), Super Mario(Like , why)Transformers(Way too many seasons), Power Rangers(They just overdid it) even Boondocks (Their 3rd season was crap). Of course I can't list all of them but that's just a few.

What really makes this worse are the franchises that pop up out of this. All the unnecessary merchandise - action figures, trading cards, gear. And most of this merchandise is stuff that's very stupid and could only entertain 3year olds(7year olds have Nintendo Wii)..  Do you really need to drain us that much?

But there are some who get it right, and to these I say kudos. Avatar: The Last Airbender, Secret Saturdays. I name only these cause they are the ones I've never seen a second season of. You might even more.  Great job. You have captured the true essence of Cartoon...

I would love to see a great cartoon that airs its first season, is highly accepted and leaves it there.. Leaving us wanting more...
