BlackBerry confirms BBM on Android Saturday, iOS Sunday

BlackBerry's messaging service finally gets on multiple platforms.

BlackBerry confirmed on Wednesday that its messenger service would come to Android and iOS this weekend.
At its annual conference in May, BlackBerry announced that BBM would go cross-platform.

A report had BBM coming to Android on Friday and iOS on Saturday. It turns out, it was a day off. The Android version will come on Saturday, while the iOS version hits the App Store on Sunday.

BBM was previously exclusive to BlackBerry users, and is much loved by the BlackBerry faithful. But by expanding it across platforms, BlackBerry is looking to take over the likes of WhatsApp, which has garnered more than 300 million users.

BlackBerry has attempted to re-brand BBM as more than a messaging service, positioning it as more of a social network.
We're getting BBM! Now what BlackBerry?!

Thank you Roger Cheng for this great find.
