Samsung Galaxy S5 hands-on: Gimmicky, but still the best phone money can buy
One of the more unnecessary smartphones... Like why exactly was this one relevant?
In theory, it’s very hard to find fault with the new Samsung Galaxy S5, unveiled on April 24 in Barcelona. It has superlative hardware, a recent version of Android (with a fairly unobtrusive version of TouchWiz), and it also just has more darn features than any other smartphone out there.

Blackphone: ‘Our smartphone won’t make you NSA-proof, but it’s a good start’
Now this we need perfected...
“We have a bit of a problem with the press saying that the Blackphone will make you NSA-proof,” Phil Zimmerman, one of the Blackphone’s creators, tells me at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. “If someone [at the Blackphone booth] tells you that it’ll protect you from the NSA, I’ll fire them.”

Technology Unlocks “Economies Of Unscale” For Small Businesses
The technology now rules...
It’s been an exhilarating time for small business owners. Twenty years ago, they lacked the tools to expand outside of their niche markets. Today, the Internet opens a flourishing global market of consumers ready and willing to engage with businesses of any size. As Patrick Collison, co-founder of Stripe, once told me, the company’s largest customers may not even exist today. Anyone can turn a living room idea into the next Fortune 500 company.

Twitter outrage as WhatsApp goes down for hours just days after Facebook purchase
Against my better judgement... But this one is worthy...
WHATSAPP was down for more than three hours yesterday days after it was bought by Facebook.
Twitter users first posted their frustration around 7pm on Saturday evening after opening the messaging service and seeing it fail to connect to servers.

Why I Love MK
My love dates back to like MK1 on the Sega. But the guy in this video, right here, brought back the love for me at a time when I had all but given up on Mortal Kombat.
When I had been given nonsense like Deception and Armageddon and I had started to say, "I'd rather play Tekken."
But Midway, sorry NetherRealm Studios brought it back for me.
Check this match in their last MK, MK9 / MK 2011

Metal Gear Solid 5 runs at 1080p on PS4, limited to 720p on Xbox One
Xbox is dying here...
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a hotly anticipated title that’s spanning four different platforms, and that means we’re in for some sweet console comparisons over the next month or so. The PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, and Xbox One will all receive versions of this game, and it seems as if the difference between each console is incredibly stark. It’s no surprise that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions look comparatively blurry, but the performance gap between the PS4 and Xbox One is a bit surprising.

Nvidia’s new Maxwell-powered GTX 750 Ti is hyper-efficient, quiet, a serious threat to AMD
A whole lot of competition
Most of the time, when AMD or Nvidia launch a new graphics card, they debut the high-end architecture first. Nvidia is bucking that plan today with the Maxwell-core GTX 750 Ti — a midrange card aimed at the $150 market. After years of dual-slot designs and hefty coolers, the GTX 750 Ti is a throwback to earlier years, when mid-range graphics cards didn't require additional power connectors or dedicated cooling slots.

Silk Road 2.0 ‘hacked’ for millions, community tearing itself apart
Secure you say? How did this happen then?
Hackers like to play the cynical, world-weary intellectuals, but an awful lot of them still seem to go down with knives in their backs. More to the point, they often spend brief periods defending those who did the stabbing, refusing to be taken in by “government lies” about divisions in their precious community. The stubborn, almost sentimental refusal to quarantine friends is what felled many important members of Anonymous, and what brought down prominent international criminal organizations like Carders Market. The Deep Web provides a fog of war that can be exploited by anyone — by criminals to operate markets and discussion forums, by police to attack them, and by anyone at all to rob them blind.

A Chinese zombie space rover is shambling around the Moon
Zombies aren't real you say?
Just a few days ago, China reported that its lunar rover, Yutu — named after the mythological Chinese jade rabbit that lives on the Moon — went gentle into that good lunar night. Now, just a handful of days later, the dead rover has awoken, shambling along the moonscape with its robot zombie bones.

PS4 doubles Xbox One sales, hasn’t even launched in Japan
This was somewhat obvious when these two were announced last year...
As time rolls on and the PS4 and Xbox One populate store shelves, the continual release of sales figures become more revealing. Thanks to Microsoft’s quickly reformed draconian Xbox One always-online policies — and the PS4′s superior hardware — we all knew Sony’s console would take a sales lead. However, newly released sales figures for January show that the lead is bigger than many of us thought, and the PS4 still has not released in its home country of Japan.

Samsung Galaxy S5: Hardware specs, software, and release date rounded up
Introducing the Samsung GALAXY S5...
According to invites sent out a little earlier this week for an “Unpacked 5″ event, it appears that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be unveiled on February 24 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This event comes a little bit sooner than anticipated (the S4 was unveiled in March last year at a standalone event in New York), but it’s well within the margin of error. The Galaxy S5, according to the rumor mill at least, is expected to have a high-resolution screen (possibly 2560×1440), an all-new aluminium chassis that finally does away with Samsung’s love affair for plastic, and a fingerprint or retina scanner. If the Galaxy S5 is unveiled in Barcelona, it will probably be released some time in March.

The International Space Station will soon become the coldest place in the known universe… for science!
Below, below zero...
Here’s one of the coolest sentences you’ll ever read: The International Space Station will soon be the coldest place in the known universe. A new instrument that will be sent to the ISS, called the Cold Atom Lab, will reach temperatures as low as 100 picokelvin — 100 trillionths of a degree above absolute zero. As matter approaches absolute zero, it starts to exhibit some very odd, rather quantum behaviour.

Samsung's Galaxy NotePro 12.2, Galaxy TabPro 10.1 and 8.4 go on sale February 13
Samsung's new business-minded tablets go on sale on February 13, but you can pre-order them now.
Samsung's newest Galaxy tablets go on sale this month, and they're packing hefty price tags. The company has announced pricing and availability for the Galaxy NotePro 12.2 and Galaxy TabPro 12.2, 10.1, and 8.4 models, four new tablets it unveiled at CES that are aimed at business users.
The Galaxy NotePro 12.2 will cost you $750 for the 32GB model and $850 for the 64GB option. Samsung's Galaxy TabPro 12.2-inch model comes with 32GB of storage and will set you back $650. The TabPro 10.1 costs $500 for 16GB, while the TabPro 8.4 gives you 16GB of internal memory for $400.
Those prices also include Galaxy Perks, which are essentially free subscriptions to popular services such as Hulu Plus, Dropbox, Bloomberg Businessweek+, and Cisco WebEx Premium.
You can purchase the Galaxy Note 12.2 tablets, as well as the Galaxy TabPro 10.1 and 8.4, starting on February 13, but you can pre-order them starting February 4 at midnight Eastern time. The Galaxy TabPro 12.2 won't be available until March 2014.
Ahead of launch day, Office Depot updated its Web site on Monday to say it is now selling the 64GB black version of the tablet for pre-order. You'll also be able to pre-order the tablets from Samsung.com, Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Tiger Direct, PC Richard and Sons, Fry's, and Newegg.
All four tablets pack impressive specs, run Android 4.4 KitKat, and sport Samsung's new Magazine UX.
The Galaxy NotePro 12.2 comes with a massive 12.2-inch diagonal touch screen with 2,560x1,600 resolution, a quad-core processor, a front 2-megapixel webcam, a rear 8-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, built-in speakers, and an S-Pen stylus. The TabPro tablets likewise, all sport high-definition screens and premium internal guts.
Though those prices might seem steep, even for premium tablets, keep in mind these devices are aimed at business users with big money to spend on technology.
